Pacific Symphony Celebrates Mission Viejo's 50th Anniversary

Pacific Symphony helped Mission Viejo celebrate its birthday last weekend at the Village Green at Oso Viejo park. It was the symphony's 35th anniversary season and the city’s 50th anniversary as a community and 25th as a city.

Visitors brought lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy picnic-like entertainment that filled the 41-acred park with classic songs from West Side Story, Bandstand Boogie, Festive Overture, Liberty Fanfare and the Star-Spangled Banner. During the National Anthem, hundreds of people placed their right hands over their hearts.

Families and children clapped and rejoiced over the the many more songs American conductor Carl St. Clair led his orchestra in.

"Every year I look forward to taking the Symphony into three communities across Orange County during Target Symphony in the Cities, where we present music free in a park setting with a Musical Carnival and conducting lessons for children." Clair wrote in a letter to the city.

Along with the harmonious music, vendors came from all over Orange County to promote and sell their wares. Vendors included Hunter Steakhouse, Jerry's Dogs, Just Chill'n, Duffner Kettle Master, Nice Ice Italian Ice and more.
