Attempted Murder At Mosaic Apartments; One Suspect Arrested

One man was severely injured overnight and remains in critical condition, after an altercation at the Mission Viejo apartment complex.

MISSION VIEJO, CA —Orange County Sheriff's Department Homicide investigators worked the scene at the Mosaic Apartment Complex, Thursday, after one man was severely injured overnight, and another man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Jesse Torres, 25, of Mission Viejo, was arrested following an altercation with the victim, OCSD spokesperson Carrie Braun told Patch. At approximately 1 a.m., OCSD deputies responded to multiple disturbance calls at the Mosaic Apartments on the 27400 block of Camden in Mission Viejo, Braun said.

"Arriving officers discovered a male victim, 19 years old, suffering from a significant head injury," she said. "The unidentified man was taken by ambulance to a local hospital and was last known to be in critical condition."

Officers located Torres at a nearby apartment hours later, was booked into the Orange County Jail on $500,000 bail.
