Sober Living Forum To Take Place In Mission Viejo

Mission Viejo residents are encouraged to attend the city's free forum to learn more about public policy and have their voices heard.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Mission Viejo residents interested in learning more about sober living and recovery homes in their community can attend the city's second public forum on Wednesday, the City of Mission Viejo announced this week.

The meeting comes on the heels of a public forum regarding sober living and recovery homes in May, the city said.

At the May meeting, a panel of experts assessed potential opportunities for the city to strengthen its enforcement efforts for residents and businesses affected by challenges sometimes created by sober living and recovery homes, according to a city news release.

According to the city, the main focus of the forum is to receive public testimony for the record to "raise greater awareness amongst legislators in Sacramento of the challenges our communities face daily with sober living and recovery homes."

The City of Mission Viejo's sober living and recovery homes forum runs from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mission Viejo City Council Chambers, 200 Civic Center.
