Soccer Player, Author Julie Foudy Comes To Mission Viejo

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Soccer superstars join Julie Foudy for inspirational Writers Present program May 23
Local sports icon Julie Foudy, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and World Cup champion, will discuss her new book “Choose to Matter: Being courageously and fabulously you” at 6:30 p.m. on May 23 at the Norman P. Murray Center.
“Choose to Matter” is for the teenage girl just starting her journey or woman at a critical fork in the road. It's for anyone who needs a little push to find courage, motivation and confidence.

Foudy and her superstar guests – Joy Fawcett, Tisha Venturini-Hoch and Emily Cressy – will inspire audience members during a special “sock talk.” Fawcett is a Hall of Famer, two-time Olympic gold medalist and World Cup champion who raised three daughters while playing professional soccer. Hoch is also a World Cup and Olympic soccer champion. Cressy, 27, continues to defy the odds on the U.S. Deaf Women’s National team. She earned gold medals at the 2005 Deaflympics and 2016 Deaf World Cup games.
These women will share their journeys of growth so that other young women can live courageously. “Choose to Matter” serves as a hands-on guide to help young women celebrate the bold leader that lives in us all.
