MISSION VIEJO, CA — A Mission Viejo-based attorney convicted of battery against a convenience store clerk has been disbarred, according to state Bar records obtained Monday.
William Hans Oei was disbarred Sunday, according the Bar. The move was based on Oei pleading guilty March 28 of last year to battery and trespassing, both misdemeanors, according to court records.
On Sept. 30, 2021, Oei was asked to leave an am/pm convenience store in Huntington Beach, according to state bar records.

When Oei entered the store he "started to walk around. He then washed his hands with ice at the soda dispenser. The clerk, who was observing Oei's actions, told him that was not allowed," according to the state Bar.
"Oei then went to the slushy dispenser and poured small amounts of each flavor to try them," according to the state Bar. "The clerk told Oei to leave and that he would not be served as a customer. Oei became upset and agitated. He walked closer to the clerk so that he was face to face with him and told him, `You wanna try pushing me? You wanna hit me?"'
