Suspicious Bag Left Outside South OC Boys & Girls Club: OCSD

The unattended bag was apparently left outside the Boys & Girls Club building Tuesday afternoon, authorities said.

ALISO VIEJO, CA — An unattended bag left outside a south Orange County Boys & Girls Club building prompted an emergency response but was found to be harmless Tuesday afternoon, authorities reported.

Orange County sheriff's deputies issued a safety advisory at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday for the ongoing incident as investigators with the hazardous device squad travel to the scene in the 24600 block of Via Iglesia in Aliso Viejo.

By 3 p.m., authorities reported that the unattended bag was found to be harmless and that the surrounding area would be reopened.

Due to the presence of safety personnel, Via Iglesia was initially closed in both directions in the area.

Sheriff's officials said parents of kids who attend the club will be contacted by staff.
