Taekwondo Olympians Descend on Laguna Niguel

MEET THE LEGENDS OF TAEKWONDO!

STEVEN LOPEZ, 4x Olympian, 2000 and 2004 Olympic Gold medalist and a 2008 Olympic Bronze medalist, will be leading a Global 8 Taekwondo Training Camp in Laguna Niguel from July 31st to August 2nd. Steven Lopez made history in 2008 when he along with his siblings, Mark and Diana, qualified for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China, This marked the first time since 1904 that three siblings competed in the same sport at the Olympic Games and the first time there were ever four siblings at the same Olympics in the same sport, with Jean as the Head Coach. Steven Lopez, Diana Lopez, Jean Lopez and 2008 Olympian Charlotte Craig will lead the Global 8 seminar in Laguna Niguel at Jimmy Kim’s Taekwondo Center, home of the first Taekwondo Olympic Gold Medalist, Jimmy Kim (1988 Olympics).

Jimmy Kim’s Taekwondo Center is hosting two special Taekwondo events this weekend. The GLOBAL 8 TAEKWONDO CAMP (July 31st-August 2nd) is for competition-oriented competitors who will learn directly from the top Taekwondo Olympian athletes in the country. The JKTC Rumble (Sat., Aug. 1st, 1:30-4:30pm) will be held in conjunction with the Taekwondo camp as a supplemental practice and training event for Taekwondo athletes who are seeking multiple sparring experiences with various competitors in a short amount of time.

A brief Welcome Reception for the Taekwondo Olympians will be held on Friday, July 31st from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm at Jimmy Kim’s Taekwondo Center.
