Teen With Knife Sought In Heroes Park: Cops

A runaway teenager seen brandishing a knife in the fast-food parking lot evaded police, Tuesday.

MISSION VIEJO, CA —Orange County Sheriff's Department officers responded to the businesses in the area of Sonic Burgers and Popeyes Chicken parking lot after reports of a juvenile brandishing a knife on Tuesday.

Officers arrived in the parking area at Los Alisos and Jeronimo Road in Mission Viejo to find parents seeking their runaway daughter's return who had been threatened with the blade, Lt. Quyen Vuong told Patch.

Two runaway teenagers, a boy, and a girl, were in the parking lot of the business plaza on Tuesday evening. When the girl's parents approached the pair, they attempted to get their daughter to come home with them, according to Vuong.
