Nothing screams summer like plump, juicy tomatoes, fruits and vegetables locally grown. On Sat, June 15 from 9 am to 1 pm, take advantage of the summer's colorful bounty at the Farmers Market and Cultural Arts Artisan Alley at the MV City Hall, 200 Civic Center.
Just in time for that Father’s Day backyard barbeque. The market will feature music by The Bluegrass Country Band and Kim Beaney. Beaney was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. Her love of music began in the early 60’s while listening to Petula Clark, Credence Clearwater Revival and the Beatles. Later, she would sing along with Joni Mitchell, Carol King, Helen Reddy and Karen Carpenter. At night she would sneak her mom’s transistor radio, hide it under her pillow so she could listen to music.
When she was nine years old she would bugle morning, noon and night at Camp Fire Girls each summer. Later she was inspired to accompany the sing-a-long around the campfire with the Conqueror, classical guitar her Mom gave her when she was 12 years old.
You can't beat the entertainment and the quality of fresh breads, fish, jams, meats, produces, salsa and even cut flowers! It's healthy to eat fresh, nutritious food and to support our local farmers. Come mingle, enjoy the entertainment and sink your teeth into something yummy.
It’s a perfect spot for a picnic –grab some fresh fruit, bread and cheese. Find a nice spot in the sun. Hope to see you there!
