Vandals Strike Mission Viejo Elementary School
The Viejo Elementary school was rocked by vandalism overnight. Police responded to the scene, Thursday morning.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — Orange County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a report of vandalism at an area elementary school, Thursday morning.
Deputies arrived at Viejo Elementary School and found a shattered window and other vandalism acts in the classroom.
"The suspect or suspects caused approximately $8,000 in damage to a preschool classroom and playground," officials say.

Patch has learned that the room belonged to a teacher who is preparing to retire.
"This is what she has to deal with instead of moving on," a parent wrote on Facebook.

Inside the class, vandals splattered paint across walls and floors. They created general mayhem with desks, wagons, and cars put away during the coronavirus shutdown, according to pictures from the scene.
Mission Viejo Police Services remains on the lookout for any tips or information in the vandalism.
"If you saw anything suspicious, please call dispatch at 949-770-6011 or direct message us," they said.
