MONROVIA, CA — Painted Promises, a three-day urban art fundraiser featuring local artists, interactive classes and original artwork for sale, will return to Monrovia's Old Town Oct. 23, transforming a vacant building into a showcase for creativity and community support, the city announced on Friday.
The event, created by local artist Ryan Burch and presented by Community Reimagined, will take place at 306 S. Myrtle Avenue. Proceeds will benefit The Creative Compound, a free monthly gathering for local artists and creatives hosted at KGEM Television in partnership with the Monrovia Association of Fine Arts, the city said.
Last year's event attracted hundreds of visitors and raised more than $18,000 to support local artists and school communities affected by the Eaton Fire.
