• Trader Joe's applies for Monrovia HQ redo (heysocal.com) — Trader Joe's is proposing a major rebuild of its national headquarters on South Shamrock Avenue in Monrovia, replacing the current offices and lot with a larger two-story complex and five-level parking structure. The project is in early review, will need environmental and zoning approvals, and will include neighborhood and CEQA meetings where residents can weigh in on traffic, design, and other impacts.
   

• California police officers run into wanted man during Panda Express lunch break (actionnewsnow.com) — Monrovia police officers finally arrested a man wanted for a parole violation when he unexpectedly walked into the Panda Express where they were eating on Wednesday night. After two previous failed attempts when he fled onto the freeway, officers quickly tackled and detained him, then returned to finish their meals. No injuries or broader public safety impacts were reported.
