MONROVIA, CA — Volunteers will gather at Library Park on Saturday for Monrovia's 36th annual Make a Difference Day, an event bringing residents, businesses and civic groups together for community service, the city said.
Hosted by the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley, the annual event connects volunteers with projects that benefit seniors, homeowners, parks and local nonprofit organizations.
Participants will help with home repairs and yard work for seniors and homeowners, park maintenance and other service projects supporting the community.
This year's theme, "Volunteer Lifestyle," emphasizes making community service a regular part of daily life rather than an annual activity.
Organizers are encouraging additional volunteers to register and participate. Breakfast and lunch will be provided free to all volunteers.
Residents interested in joining the event can register online through the Volunteer Center of San Gabriel Valley or call 626-256-8187 for more information.
