June 18th - What was Going on At Monrovia Recreation Park

Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association held their 19th Annual Picnic.  Over 200 people attended the picnic.  People danced, ate good old barbeque, adults and children played games. People reminisced  about the good old days when families use to spend Saturday and Sunday's at the Monrovia Recreation Park having fun with family and friends.  People also talked about when the Plunge cost only 25 cents to swim. Some of the families that attended the  picnic consisted of four generations.

Adults won trophy's for domino and Bid Whist Tournament.  Children won prizes for the three legged race, hula hoop, freebie throw, etc.

Eloise Hart wanted to thank all the people who attended the picnic.  We look forward to seeing more people at the 20th Annual Picnic next year.  The proceeds goes towards the scholarships fund for the Monrovia and Duarte High School Seniors which will be honored again at the  Scholarship Dinner dance on November 12, 2011.  The place will be announced at a later date.
