Bears Break Into Vegas Shooting Victim's Monrovia Home: VIDEO

Three friendly neighbors snuck through a sliding glass door and made themselves comfortable, even grabbing a snack before they left.

MONROVIA, CA – A Las Vegas shooting victim walked into the living room of his Monrovia home and found a family of bears had stopped by for a snack – cat food, to be exact. One bear was munching on the kibbles on the carpet, his mother and sibling standing in the doorway.

"You guys got to get out," he said, trying to reason with the cub. "Oh boy..."

While bear sightings in Monrovia are the norm, bears entering the home are not. These particular bears have visited the family three times in the past two weeks. Jenny Mark, wife of the Vegas shooting victim, estimates the bear cub weighed around 200 pounds.

“We always leave our slider cracked open about five inches to let my cats go in and out,” Mark explained to KTLA. “We had a wood piece made to go in the bottom of the slider so you can’t get the door open — they managed to both squeeze in.”

She said her husband tried to get the bears to leave the residence, but they eventually wandered out on their own. Even for this animal-loving family, bears inside their home was a bit nerve-wracking, Mark said.
