In 1984, President Ronald Reagan dubbed the month of July as National Ice Cream Month. To many Americans, this sounds like a pleasant month, as ice cream is a favorite among people of all ages. Like most tasty desserts, unfortunately, ice cream, depending on where it is bought, can carry a large amount of sugar and calories, all of which suddenly doesn’t sound so exciting – especially to people with diabetes.
While diabetes does not restrict a person from partaking in such little holidays, it does hold a tighter chain around their worries. People with Type II diabetes have to be particularly mindful than most people about what they consume as too much indulgence can be detrimental to their health. Of course, watching what you eat is easier said than done, which is why some people have taken to hiring caregivers from A-1 Home Care to assist them with their meals. Under our Diabetic Care program, our in home health aides can prepare healthy meals and tend to whatever other nonmedical duties are required in the home. In addition to this, they are also trained to handle various types of scenarios needing Senior Care, Incontinence Care, Live In Care, and more.
