Whiz Kid: Clifton Middle School Student is Miss Majorette of California

Madisen Buonsanti has a bright future ahead in 2011.

Who:  Madisen Buonsanti, age 12, student at .

Accomplishment:  Madisen won the title of Miss Majorette of California in 2010.

Key To Awesomeness:  After learning about twirling through Girl Scouts four years ago, Madisen has pushed herself to excel and win. She has participated in , and has also competed at the AYOP National Twirling Championships at Notre Dame in Indiana, and at the Tournament of Champions in Maui. After earning numerous awards and trophies, she won the title of Beginner Pre-Teen Miss Majorette of California in 2010.

Madisen is currently aiming to win this year’s All West Miss Majorette 10-12 Beginner competition in April, after which she hopes to bring the National title to California. She hones her skills by practicing with as many as three different batons under the guidance of her teacher Yolanda Higman, an International World Baton Twirling Champion and formerly the feature twirler for USC. Through practice and perseverance, Madisen wins competitions while keeping the sport and art form of twirling alive.
