Couple Arrested for Craigslist Robbery at Nearby Restaurant

A Hacienda Heights couple were arrested for stealing cell phones from a person advertising them for sale on Craigslist, El Monte police said today.

Adrian Salcedo, 33, and wife Desiree Salcedo, 34, were booked on suspicion of robbery, El Monte police said.

Adrian Salcedo and the victim met in an El Monte restaurant about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 20 "to complete a Craigslist transaction of used cell phones," police said.

"During the transaction, the 'buyer' took the cell phones and threatened to shoot the seller if he called the police," police said. "No weapon was seen. The suspect fled in a vehicle being driven by a female."

The victim relayed the license number of the getaway vehicle to police, who arrested Adrian Salcedo on Sunday, police said. On Monday, his wife was arrested.
