El Monte Man Gets 50 Years to Life for Sexually Assaulting Girlfriend's Daughter, Trying to Molest Another Girl
Miguel Angel Lomeli was found guilty of two counts each of sexual intercourse or sodomy.
An El Monte man was sentenced today to 50 years to life in state prison for sexually assaulting his girlfriend's young daughter and trying to molest another underage girl.
Superior Court Judge Bruce Marrs also ordered Miguel Angel Lomeli, 43, to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
Lomeli was found guilty April 4 of two counts each of sexual intercourse or sodomy with a child 10 or younger and oral copulation or sexual penetration with a child 10 or younger and one count of forcible lewd act upon a child involving the girl -- whose exact age was not disclosed.

He was also convicted of one count of attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14 involving another girl, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.
Lomeli dated the younger victim's mother for a short time before moving into her home, according to Deputy District Attorney Babette Huley. The crimes took place between June and November of 2012, the prosecutor said.

Lomeli was arrested on Nov. 15, 2012, and has remained jailed since then.
