Brown Bag Workshop: National Emergency Grant On-The-Job Training Program

Our library will be hosting a very special brown bag workshop for business owners and job seekers on Wednesday June 29th, which I hope you can attend.  Lori Moreno from LA Works will be talking about a new incentive program that reimburses businesses for training newly hired employees.

With the recent downturn in the economy, the State of California was awarded a multi-million dollar grant to assist the long-term unemployed in finding employment.  The primary objective of the grant is to help businesses reduce the cost of training new employees. The secondary objective includes dislocated workers who need additional training to transition to a new industry.

A flyer describing the program is attached for your information.  The program is FREE and we hope that you can spend your lunch hour with us!
