Farewell to Manzanar - the film

The film depicts life in the Manzanar internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II. Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston, seven at the time of President Roosevelt's Order 9066, was forced to leave her home along with the rest of her family and relocate to Manzanar. Her book by the same name became required reading in California schools.

Part of the CA Reads-Searching for Democracy series, this powerful film opens discussion for the state and future of democracy in light of mistakes past.
