In 1942, President Roosevelt ordered the forced internment of Japanese Americans on the West Coast. One of people sent to Manzanar was a seven year old girl, Jeanne Wakatsuki. It took her nearly thirty years to come to terms with her experience in camp, and she finally wrote about it in Farewell to Manzanar. Hear her speak in the Library's Storytime Room.
