Forks Over Knives Showing with Dr Matt Lederman

John Tanner, Ph.D.,  the Founder and CEO of Tanner Research in Monrovia, suffered near-fatal cardiac arrest three years ago. Since then, he has studied intensely the causes of heart disease, the leading killer in this country. To his surprise, he found that heart disease can be completely avoided through a proper diet, and that cancer, stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, and about 30 other diseases can be reduced, avoided, or reversed by this same diet. And while the overwhelming majority of us think we are eating healthy, we are so mistaken that about ¾ of us will die needlessly from diseases caused by our poor diet.

A documentary movie, Forks Over Knives, released in 2011, covers the work of several top researchers in the field of nutrition science. John will briefly introduce the film as containing information that could have saved him from his heart attack and could save your life. We will then show the 90 minute movie, and follow with a question and answer session with Dr. Matt Lederman, one of the doctors featured in the movie. We will end with some food tasting in the lobby to show how delicious truly healthy food can be.

Everyone attending will receive a coupon for a free nutrition book, cookbook, or video. For more information about the choice of free books available, visit www.nusci.org, the website of Nutrition Science Foundation, a non-profit co-sponsor of this event along with Monrovia High School.
