Five Newcomers Running for School Board
Three seats are up for grabs on the Monrovia Unified School District Board of Education.

Five newcomers will take on two incumbents in the race for three open seats on the Board of Education when voters go to the polls on November 8.
Sitting board members Ed Gililland and Bryan Wong are running for reelection, and a third seat is up for grabs after board member .
As of Aug. 18, seven candidates have filed the appropriate paperwork to run, according to the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's office. The newcomers are:

- David Dale Crabtree
- Rob Hammond, Business Owner
- Janeane Lechuga Covarrubias, Escrow Officer
- Ed McCarthy, Businessman
- Terrance G. Williams, Entrepreneur
Hammond, Monrovia's former mayor, since stepping down as mayor in 2009.
The top three vote-getters will win seats on the board when votes are cast in November.
