Monrovia Company Expanding, Adding 100 Jobs
WorleyParsons, already the city's largest employer, will open an executive office on Lemon Avenue.

After nearly opening an office in Pasadena, a real estate firm has convinced WorleyParsons to stay and expand in Monrovia as part of a deal that would bring about 100 new jobs to Old Town.
Already the city's largest employer, WorleyParsons, a Fortune 500 engineering and construction management company with offices on Huntington Drive, has decided to lease about 24,600 square feet of office space at 111 W. Lemon Ave.
"We are thrilled that WorleyParsons is expanding their footprint in Monrovia," said Mayor Mary Ann Lutz during Wednesday's City Council meeting.

Dan Bacani, the executive vice president at NAI Capital, the real estate firm that closed the deal, said during the meeting that he immediately tried to steer the company to Monrovia after hearing that it was close to reaching a deal to open an office in Pasadena.
Bacani said it took seven months to complete the agreement and praised the city for being business friendly.

"There’s just no better place on Earth to do a deal than in Monrovia, California," Bacani said. "This was one of the hardest deals in my career to actually put together, and it could not have been done without [city staff]."
A representative for WorleyParsons did not immediately return a call requesting comment on the deal. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal is expected to bring about 100 new executive-level jobs to Monrovia, according to Bacani.
WorleyParsons, which has offices around the world, specializes in "technical, project and operational support services" for development projects, according to the company's website.
