Prices at the pump have been steadily rising for just over a week, according to AAA of Southern California. The national fuel gauge report indicates that the average price for 87-octane fuel in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area today is $3.744. That's just over one cent higher than yesterday, and three cents higher than last week. Most of Monrovia's gas stations have set the prices a bit higher than the L.A. average, with the exception of at Huntington Dr. and Mountain Ave. They're charging $3.63 for regular gas, however they do tack on a forty cent surcharge for customers using debit or credit cards other than their own. If you don't have an Arco card, you can always pay cash to avoid the fee.
