Great Escape: Mixed Media with The Irish Gardener

Unleash your creative talents at a unique and inspirational workshop given by Monrovia artist, Elizabeth Butterfield. If you’ve been fortunate to see her work at or or the annual in , you’ve surely been captivated at how she portrays the essence of the world around us using everyday objects as her supplies - newspaper, seed packets, paint, pen and ink and more.

Now even those new to art are able to learn how she creates these one-of-a-kind works in a morning workshop held at The Irish Gardener, a charming Old Town Monrovia boutique for which Beth designs the display cases and tablescapes. This class introduces you to new and experimental ways of tearing paper, and applying layer upon layer of mixed media in various manners. You will play, paint and create a Bearded Iris portrait, using her supplies, including her vast collection of papers, maps, wall paper and other objects. You can also bring your own items to include.
