Feeling in a rut and want to learn something new? Have you been meaning to freshen up your computer skills? Ever wonder what a career in cosmetology would be like or have you always secretly desired to learn how to watercolor or sculpt?
Monrovia Community Adult School offers a wide array of classes - from parent education and accounting services to yoga and media arts. Not only can you learn how to upholster your grandma’s old sofa in a matter of weeks, you'll also enjoy an evening out to recharge your mental battery. I speak from experience - when I say the evening ceramics class at The Wheelhouse is as much a way to make new friends as it is an opportunity to learn how to throw a pot on the wheel.
Each class is about four to six weeks long and the cost ranges from $15 to $85 plus minimal supply fees depending on the subject. You can choose from day or evening sessions and there are multiple learning centers throughout the city.
New classes include Cosmetology, Prenatal Yoga, Yoga for Seniors, Microsoft Office 2010 and Beginning Computers for Seniors computer classes.
MCAS is currently enrolling students for Spring classes online or at their main office at 920 S. Mountain Ave. For questions call 626-471-3035.
