LA County Doubles Reward To $20,000 For Info On Man's Murder Near Monrovia

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Board of Supervisors voted Tuesday to double a reward to $20,000 in hopes of solving the murder of a 39-year-old father of two gunned down in Duarte in front of his wife.

Kirinda Lavar Morehead was shot in the 2300 block of Bashor Street on the evening of Feb. 18. He had just parked behind his wife's vehicle and they were walking on Mount Olive Drive toward their home when a car pulled alongside and someone inside fired multiple shots, according to sheriff's investigators.

Supervisor Kathryn Barger, who recommended doubling and renewing the reward, called it a "heinous murder."

Set to expire May 28, the reward will now be available for at least another 90 days.

Witnesses told investigators they saw a white BMW with tinted windows driving away west on Bashor and then north on Mount Olive Drive.
