Man Found Shot To Death In Azusa Riverbed ID'd

The victim appeared to have been there for a couple of days, authorities said.

AZUSA, CA -- A homeless man found shot to death in an Azusa riverbed was identified Thursday.

Alexander Morales, 47, was found dead about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday near the aqueduct at Sierra Madre and Todd avenues, according to the sheriff's department and the coroner's office.

The victim appeared to have been there for a couple of days, sheriff's Deputy Kimberly Alexander said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were assisting Azusa police in the investigation. Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
