Man Killed in Shooting Near Monrovia ID'd as Alexander Salazar
Salazar was a known gang member but it's unknown if the shooting was gang-related, authorities said.

AZUSA, CA -- A man shot dead in attack in Azusa that also wounded another man was publicly identified Monday.
He was Alexander Salazar, 21, of Azusa, according to coroner's Investigator Kristy McCracken.
It happened just after 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the 600 block of North Dalton Avenue, according to sheriff's Deputy Juanita Navarro-Suarez.

Responding Azusa police officers found a Lexus sedan had crashed into a parked pickup in an alley just north of Sixth Street. Inside, the driver now identified as Salazar was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Navarro-Suarez.
Paramedics rushed a 20-year-old man to an area hospital. He was treated and later released from the hospital, Navarro-Suarez said.

According to the sheriff's department, the driver was a known gang member. But it's unknown if the shooting was gang-related. There was no suspect description, Navarro-Suarez said.
Sheriff's homicide detectives were assisting the Azusa police in the homicide investigation.
