Monrovia Scouts BSA Girl Troop being formed in Monrovia

Monrovia Scouts BSA Girl Troop being formed in Monrovia

Good Evening Community Family! Over the past three years with the support of our amazing Chartered Organization; The American Legion Post 44, for which we could not have become what we are without them, have decided to add a new female youth program for the City of Monrovia. American Legion Post 44, along with Monrovia Troop 66B; Monrovia Girl Troop 66G is being formed and actively recruiting.

The Girl Troop will have some unbelievable opportunities being partnered with the Legion, Troop 66B, Sea Scout Ship 66, and the Scouts BSA Learning for Life Infantry Explorers Program out of the Joint Forces Training Base. Our Scouts will be able to learn leadership starting at a patrol level to running a Troop, be able to take advanced leadership courses such as Cedar Badge, National Youth Leadership Training, Powderhorn and Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops. They will be regularly active within our community with such things as community service, local government, parades, working with our local and surrounding veterans and the Knights of Columbus. Some of their adventures will include whitewater rafting, long term camp, rock climbing, shooting, archery, swimming and life saving skills such as first aid by trained paramedics, water survival training with the JFTB and Sea Scout Ship 66, land navigation, wilderness survival and merit badges to introduce them to life careers.

The Scouts will be able to make lifelong friends and meet new Scouts from other states when we travel to different Scout Camps. If you have a girl that would like to become part of something special, family driven, Scout led, have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10 years old.

During this unusual time Troop 66B is maintaining a virtually active troop to provide our kids the outlet they so desperately need. With that said, we felt it would be a perfect opportunity to create a learning rich program for our female youth.
