The hills above Monrovia were alive the weekend of January 26th to 28th, 2018. Almost 100 Scouts and their families were working to renovate many areas of Trask Scout Reservation over a 3 day weekend.
Monrovia Pack 66 and FINESSE INC., Custom Builders hosted a volunteer service project weekend. Diana Vierra, owner of FINESSE INC., who also has a son in Pack 66, James V., created a project plan with the help of her husband David Vierra in conjunction with Monrovia Pack 66 to breathe some life back into Camp Trask.
The project included cleaning, repairing screens and replacing curtains for 3 staff cabins. The 4th cabin had a complete makeover, electrical, installing of insulation, interior walls, removal of exterior walls to replace with new T1-11 siding, painting of exterior walls and installing of new trim for door and windows. The tent decks behind the staff cabins received a power wash and fresh coats of paint.

The planning, organization, materials procurement, donation requests, and volunteer management went off without a hitch. This was due to all the amazing volunteers, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, families, Camp Masters and 1 Girl Scout. A total of 3 days, 723 volunteer hours, 100 scouts and their families and $1500 in donations and supplies made this possible.
