Monrovia Troop 66 Accepts Grant from Bass Pro Shops

Scouting is Alive! Troop 66 has been as busy as ever, if not more so, having four to five Zoom meetings per week by patrol, Scouting Challenges, Camp-ins, cooking challenges, skits, you name it our Scouts have been doing it.

June 7th, 2020 was a special day for our Troop as we were able to gather wearing masks to accept a generous and especially kind grant from Bass Pro Shops in Rancho Cucamonga. This has been six months in the making working with the amazing leadership team at Bass Pro Shops. Thanks to Mr. Bob Minor, General Manager for facilitating and making this happen for our Troop.

Troop 66 will now be able to offer Cast Iron cooking classes to our Troop Scouts and take the Cooking Merit Badge to the next level. Our Troop & Patrol kitchens are fully stocked to cook up whatever a scout can think of. With the addition of five kitchens, two Dutch Oven cooking tables, and a full array of every cast iron cooking want and need; our Troop will be teaching our local Cubs and Girl Scouts camp cooking and offer up a community outreach for youth that want to learn cast iron cooking.

Troop 66 is indebted and incredibly grateful to the following Bass Pro Shop staff for your help, kindness, professionalism, and unwavering support to Troop 66 to deliver these items during these unprecedented times.
