Monrovia Youth Baseball League: Weekly Wrap-Up
Here's a summary of the games last week in the MYBL.
Bronco Division: Saturday, Mar. 26
Yankees 12, Padres 2
The Monrovia Bronco Yankees opened up interleague play with a 12-2 win over the visiting Duarte Padres. The Yankees broke open a once close game by scoring four runs in the fourth inning and five runs in the fifth inning. Jacob Luman pitched 5 strong innings in picking up his second win of the season. He allowed 2 runs on 6 hits while striking out 8 Padres. Sam Brooks and Jacob Sanchez led the Yankees offensive charge. Brooks went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and Sanchez went 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored.
Mustang Division: Saturday, Mar. 26

Angels 15, Cardinals 0
Angel Seth Rockenbach went 3 for 3 with a single, double and a triple and scored three times. First year player Andrew Hinojosa came through for a second time with a double!
Orioles 17 vs. Rangers 2

The Orioles pulled out a win over the Rangers 17-2. The Rangers' Bailey Evans went 2 for 2, pitched and played catcher--at one point blocking home plate in a diving play where the ump calling the runner out! Daniel Elliot came in to to strike out 3. Orioles pitcher Martinez came in to help preserve pitchers Schultz's and Williams' win and kept the runs allowed this season to only 8! Lead-off batter for the Orioles Mikee Figueroa went 4 for 4 and helped the team out with an RBI.
Rockies 15 vs. Dodgers 6
The Dodgers kept it close, battling it out with the Rockies until Aaron Mercado sealed the win for the Rockies with his excellent pitching.
Pinto Division: Saturday, Mar. 26
Yankees 9, Angels 1
Behind stellar pitching from Tristan Olson and Pablo Johnson the Yankees won 9-1! Pablo Johnson and Zak Camarena swung the bat very well, each going 2 for 2 with a HR and double while together collecting 6 RBI’s.
