Monrovia Youth Baseball League: Weekly Wrap-Up

Here's what the little local sluggers did last week.

Bronco, 03/29/11

Yankees 6, Dodgers 4

The Bronco Yankees continued their winning ways by beating the previously undefeated Dodgers last Tuesday. Jacob Sanchez was the offensive catalyst for the Yanks, going 3 for 3 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored. Aiden Guajardo had a key RBI triple to seal the victory. Joshua Delgado pitched 3 effective innings for the win and Jacob Luman picked up the save. Matt West and Isaih Ramos paced the Dodgers attack.

Mustang, 03/31/11

Orioles 18, Rangers 8

The mustang Orioles allowed the Rangers to score 8 runs in this game (that’s as many runs as they have allowed all season). Orioles third baseman John Arellano and second baseman Mikee Figueroa came through with some solid plays and a tag-out to help seal the Orioles win!

Orioles 15, Dodgers 8

This was a highly anticipated game and it delivered! The Orioles and Dodgers battled it out, exchanging hits and matching plays. Dodgers player Serrano came through with three big hits for the Dodgers and Will Schmidt started a 3-hit rally in the last inning with a deep hit to right field. The Orioles line-up did a stellar job of hitting and getting on base! Player Sennet Schultz stepped it up big to solidify the win for his team with 9 RBI’s, also scoring twice and striking out 6 out of 9 batters.

Angels 14, Cardinals 2

The Angels won 14 to 2 over the Cardinals. The Angels' Robert Ochoa pitched 3 scoreless innings and Josiah Zamora got his first hit!!

Yankees 10, Angels 0

The sun was shining and the bats were HOT!! The Yanks' win was an overall team effort as almost every player got a hit! Also getting his first hit today was Colin Walsh, ripping a double down the left field line to start a big rally!!! Way to go Colin!!
