Officer Arrests Subject After Foot Chase
Man fled the officer after the subject believed he was a Sheriff's deputy.

Monrovia Police arrested a man who ran from an officer who tried to stop and talk with him Thursday evening.
The man, who was not booked by the time this story launched, was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a peace officer and for a gang injunction violation, said Lt. Zeke Cereceres of Monrovia Police.
The officer attempted to speak with the man in the area of Duarte Road and California Avenue around 7:30 p.m., because he closely resembled another subject who has two felony warrants. The man decided to run, Cereceres said.
The officer followed behind as the man ran west on Duarte Road, south on California Avenue then eastbound on Monrovista. The man fell and the pursuing officer detained the fleeing subject at gunpoint until backup officers arrived, Cereceres said.
Asked why he ran, the man said because he thought the officer was a Sheriff's deputy, Cereceres said.
