Old Town Pizza

Overview:  This popular, family-friendly pizzeria offers a variety of regular and thin crust specialty and made-to-order pizzas, as well as calzones, sandwiches, hot wings, pasta, and salads. Customers can carry away, eat outdoors, or stay inside to catch a game on the large flat screen TV.

Décor:  The casual interior is mostly in shades of beige, brown, and green. On the walls you will also find charming historic black and white photographs of Old Town Monrovia. Booths and tables are the best places to watch TV, but a high top counter with chairs, and outdoor seating under a green awning, is also available.

Drinks:  Bottled water and soda ($125-$2.50). Beers on tap ($3/glass-$12/pitcher): Bud Light, Michelob Amber Bock, Hefeweizen, Stella. Bottled beers ($3.25): Corona, New Castle, Shock Top, or Budweiser. Wines ($2.99/glass, $6.50/ Half carafe, $9.75/Carafe): White Zinfandel, Merlot, or Chardonnay.

Appetizers:  Some of Old Town Pizza’s appetizers include Hot or BBQ Wings ($4.29-$7.29), Jalapeno Poppers ($4.79), Garlic Cheese Bread ($2.79), Bread Sticks with Cheese and Marinara Sauce ($4.50), Potato Wedges ($2.99), and Meatballs with bell peppers, onions, Marinara sauce, and cheese ($2.99).

Pizzas:  Some of the most popular specialty pizzas are the Old Town Special ($13.99-$18.99) with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, bacon bits, onions and green peppers, the Margarita Pizza ($12.99-$16.99) with Marinara sauce, Mozzarella, Roma tomatoes, and fresh basil and oregano, the Old Town Combo ($13.99-$18.99) with pepperoni, sausage, fresh mushrooms, red onions and black olives, and The Works ($17.99-$22-99) with pepperoni, ham, bacon bits, sausage, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, olives, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, and pineapple.

Other specialty pizzas include Lasagna Pizza ($13.99-$18.99) with fresh ricotta cheese, mushrooms, sausage, and mozzarella, Pastrami Lover’s ($13.99-$17.99) with pastrami, mustard, and pickles, Mexican Pizza ($14.99-$18.99) with pepperoni, jalapenos, chorizo and fresh avocado, and Sicilian Pizza ($12.99-$16.99) with garlic, olive oil, Roma tomatoes, Parmesan and mozzarella.

Made-to-order pizzas can come with a variety of toppings, including pepperoni, sausage, ham, Canadian bacon, bacon bits, salami, meatballs, mushrooms, black olives, red onions, tomato, garlic, bell pepper, jalapeno, pineapple, chorizo, artichoke hearts, fresh basil, spinach marinated with garlic and olive oil, roasted red peppers, chicken, pastrami, and avocado. Pizzas with cheese and one topping range from $4.79 for a "Personal" (8 inch) pie to $27.70 for a "Party" (24 inch) pie.

Other Entrees:  Calzones with one topping are $6.29, with additional toppings available for $.79. Hot Sub Sandwiches ($5.29) include Meatball or Eggplant Parmigiana with Marinara sauce and cheese, Chicken with lettuce, tomato, mayo and cheese, Pastrami with mustard, pickles and cheese, and Roast Beef Dip with cheese and au jus. Cold Sandwiches ($5.29) include Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, or Salami and Cheese, Tuna, Veggie with mushrooms, olives, and bell peppers, and Italian Cold Cut with mortadella, salami, and ham.

Family Pasta Meals (serves four) come with Garlic Bread and are available for $16.50 - $20.99, or $22.50-$26.99 with Salad. Pastas ($5.50 - $7.79) include Spaghetti with Marinara and mozzarella cheese, Spaghetti With Meatballs, Meat or Cheese Ravioli, Meat or Veggie Lasagna, Pasta Alfredo with Chicken, and Eggplant Parmigiana.

Salads:  Salads range in size from "Small" (serves one) to "Family" (serves five to seven) from $2.99 for a Small Garden Salad with Romaine, olives, tomato, cheese and croutons, to a "Family" size Seasonal Summer Salad with Spring mix, strawberries, Mandarin wedges, dry cranberries, caramelized pecans, and the recommended Citrus dressing for $14.99. Favorites include the Antipasto Salad ($4.29-$12.99) with Romaine, pepperoni, salami, olives, mushrooms, tomatoes, bell pepper, onions, pepperoncini and cheese, the Chef Salad, Tuna Salad, Chicken Salad or Chicken Caeser for $4.29-$12.99, and the Spinach Salad ($4.99-$14.99) with baby spinach, tomato, mushrooms, onions, caramelized pecans and bacon bits.

Dressing choices include Ranch, Italian, Bleu Cheese, Honey Mustard, Caeser, Balsamic Vinaigrette, or Citrus.

Desserts:  Brownies ($1.25), Cheescake ($1.50).
