Patch Picks: 5 Fashion Faves
Spring is around the corner, and that means ladies are on the lookout for new clothes.
First, you’re asking yourself, why is this older guy reporting on fashion and what would he know? Frankly, not much. However, your intrepid reporter does have daughters who do, so one was dragooned into walking Old Town and beyond for a look at the best picks for spring wear. Her ideas, you can trust.
1)
On Huntington across from the Huntington Oaks Shopping Plaza, Suo has a wide selection of stylish fashions featuring delicate prints and small floral patterns. Definitely not the usual mall offerings, not the “same-old-same-old.” Very much for the mid 20s crowd.

2)
Current and friendly comes to mind at 302 Myrtle. A wide variety of different pieces that are youthful and fun. The 20-something crowd should fine ample choices here.

3)
417 Myrtle has a funky mix for the younger, junior set, a nice variety in the mold of Forever 21, but definitely unique.
4)
Find this at 505 Myrtle. Many hailed the return of Mimmers from a 6-month absence and a move down the street to smaller digs. This shop features an eclectic mix from Ts to Dressy. Lots of fun prints and patterns to choose from.
5)
This last boutique at 430 S. Myrtle offers a bit more mature (but not “old”) selection that 30-40s will like. They still have jackets and warmer wear, so get in quick before it all becomes summery and light.
So there you go, ladies. Find something that’s not cookie cutter fashion by shopping locally for your new spring duds. You might also check for the accessories and shoes to go with your new wardrobe. This is a list of only five shops. There are several others in town, what's your favorite? Again, this reporter wants to thank his daughter for helping. This weeks Patch Picks would be pretty questionable otherwise.
