Search For Missing Hiker Shuts Down HWP In Monrovia

MONROVIA, CA – The Hillside Wilderness Preserve (HWP) is closed today due to a search for a missing hiker, according to the Monrovia Fire Department alert system. Monrovia Fire and Rescue received a call for a missing hiker in Canyon Park/United States Forest Service Wednesday night at approximately 10 p.m.

Monrovia Fire and Rescue along with Sierra Madre Search and Rescue have been searching for the lost hiker throughout the night, according to fire officials. The search will continue today and the HWP will remain closed.
