See Wedding Crasher Dash With Happy Couple's Cash
A stranger in a suit was caught on video pacing around the Monrovia wedding reception before stealing gifts from the couple.

MONROVIA, CA – He was the wedding crasher from hell. Clad in a dark suit, the stranger lurked around the dance floor as newlyweds Maribel and Anthony Nolasco celebrated with loved ones at their Monrovia reception Saturday. He waited until no one was looking, and that's when he struck, nabbing the box of cards filled with cash for the young couple.
Fortunately, for the newlyweds, they were celebrating with about 100 wedding guests at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Monrovia when the incident was caught on video, giving them hope that the thief could be caught.
For the newlyweds, the video is an eerie reminder of the violation that crashed down on what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives. The wedding crasher can be seen wearing a suit and pacing before he grabs the box off a table and walks away. The newlywed couple said that box was filled with cash gifts that friends and family gifted to them.

"Sometimes it’s tradition just to bring a lot of money and envelopes. And then culture-wise, there are a lot of people that bring the red envelopes," the groom Anthony Nolasco told KTLA. "We thought it was safe. Unfortunately there's bad people out there."
Anthony noticed the box was missing toward the end of the reception, according to WGNO. When he called hotel security, he was shocked to see the wedding crasher cradling the box of gifts, the news station reported.

"I'm the first one that saw it. I didn’t want to upset my new wife. Kept going with the ceremony. Then we called police," Anthony said.
The bride, Maribel, said she was looking forward to opening her gifts and reading the sweet sentiments written to the couple, FOX 13 reported.
"There were cards that meant a lot to us, like friends writing nice things and thoughts to us," Maribel said. "I just couldn’t wait to go home and open my cards and read them. I don’t have it anymore."
The couple filed a police report, and a friend started a GoFundMe campaign to help the newlyweds start their marriage off on the right foot. As of Wednesday, $225 of the $5,000 goal has been raised.
