Teen Killed In Sunday's Shooting Near Monrovia ID'd

A motive for the shooting was unknown and no suspect description was available, authorities said.

DUARTE, CA — A teenage boy shot to death in Duarte was publicly identified Monday.

He was Gabriel Shea Carlos, 16, of Duarte, according to coroner's Lt. Larry Dietz.

The shooting was reported about 1:40 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Shrode Avenue, Deputy Jeffrey Gordon of the Sheriff's Information Bureau said.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene, Gordon said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives asked anyone with information regarding the shooting death to call them at (323) 890-5500.
