The Monrovia Duarte Black Alumni Association (MDBAA) and Monrovia Area Partners (MAP) join to celebrate Black History Month 2014 with a Soul Food Luncheon. This luncheon will begin at 3:00pm. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 3-10 years old. You can reserve tickets by calling MDBAA President, Eloise Hart (626) 529-5671. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. The proceeds from the tickets will go to the scholarship and the Black History Month 2015 funds.
"The Civil Rights Movement in America" program under the direction of Ms. Ruhiyyih Yuille, will begin at 4:15pm. This program is free of charge. The program will feature the MDBAA's Black History Month 2014 Youth Vocal Ensemble and 91 year old story teller, Mrs. Verleaner Dixon.
The event will conclude with a raffle - Gift Baskets ($1 per ticket or 6 tickets for $5) and a Kindle Fire HD ($5 per ticket) and light dessert.
