Wild Wind Watch 2011: Tips For Staying Safe
The city and police department issued these tips to staying safe during another night of wild winds.

The city and the have been sending out tips online and via Twitter to staying safe during another night of strong winds expected to blow through. Here's a wrap-up of the advice:
- To report a fallen tree on a public street or sidewalk, please call City Hall at 626-932-5550.
- Do not touch power lines. To report a downed power line, call Edison at 800-611-1911, 9-1-1, or visit Southern California Edison's website to get updates for your area. Follow Edison on Twitter by clicking here.
- Volunteers wanting to assist in the clean-up efforts should report to the , at 141 E. Lemon Avenue. You will be screened and then assigned to a designated site.
- Use extra caution during the evening and night. With power out and street lights off be mindful of debris in the road.
- If you have power, charge the cell phone and other devices just in case you lose power later. Replace the batteries in your alarm clock.
- Remember that when street lights are out, you need to treat those intersections as four-way stops.
- If you lost your pet check with the Monrovia Police Department Animal Control at 626-256-8058.

- Champion Broadband: According to an automated recording issued by Champion Broadband, problems with internet and cable access are expected to be remediated within four to six hours. Contact Champion at 877-899-8898 for more information.
- Southern California Edison: Edison crews are working throughout the City to restore power, though an exact timeframe has not been issued. For immediate assistance, contact Edison at 800-611-1911.
- Gas Company: The City has not received any reports of service interruption. If a problem arises, contact the Gas Company at 800-427-2200.
