Open House

On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Moss Landing Marine Laboratories will hold its annual Open House—a fully student-run event that transforms a working marine research facility into an interactive, behind-the-scenes experience. Admission to the open house is free to the public, but donations are encouraged. The event aims to raise $25,000 to support student scholarships, research equipment and field experiences.

The free event invites visitors of all ages to engage directly with marine science through touch tanks with live marine invertebrates, interactive exhibits, educational speed talks, and a campus-wide scavenger hunt. Guests can meet the graduate students behind the research and explore topics ranging from local Monterey Bay ecosystems to global expeditions in places like the Antarctic.
