GLENDALE, CA — Glendale Water & Power announced Wednesday a rebate program offering residential customers up to $2,500 toward the purchase of an eligible used electric vehicle.
The utility's Used Electric Vehicle Rebate Program provides a standard $1,500 rebate to eligible residential customers and a $2,500 rebate to income-qualified customers enrolled in the Glendale Care Program, according to Glendale Water & Power.
The program is funded through proceeds from California's Low Carbon Fuel Standard, which provides funding for clean transportation initiatives, officials said.
Rebates will be offered as long as funding is available.
Eligible customers may also be able to combine the utility's rebate with incentives offered through California's MyFirstEV program, potentially increasing the amount they receive. Customers must separately meet the eligibility requirements of both programs.
Glendale Water & Power said the program is intended to reduce the upfront cost of purchasing a used electric vehicle while promoting clean transportation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
