Locals Work Together for Famine Relief
Children from La Crescenta church and other area churches rally to bring help to the less fortunate.

Children from the Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church took part in the World Vision's 30-Hour Famine last week.
The group of children, 20 in all, included patrons of Lutheran Church in the Foothills and La Canada Methodist Church. The children participated in the fast and collected donations April 26-27 to bring attention to the plight of starving children around the world.
Food and money was also collected at Ralph stores in La Crescenta and La Canada, according to the La Canada Valley Sun.
A protest also took place in Old Pasadena.
Hundreds of sack lunches were collected for the needy in Los Angeles' MacArthur Park, as well as food for the MEND food bank in Pacoima.
