Event to benefit Pets for Vets, Ventura County Chapter
Ventura, CA, April 28, 2017 - The Ventura HOG Chapter along with Ventura Harley-Davidson will host this year’s Annual Seaside Fun Poker Run, on May 6, 2017, from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. This family friendly event will feature live music and entertainment, vendors, food, and raffles and cash prizes. All bikes and riders are welcome for the estimated two-hour ride, which drew nearly 200 participants last year.

A portion of the proceeds raised will go to benefit the Pets for Vets Ventura County Chapter, an all-volunteer organization, which serves veterans in the cities of Agoura Hills, Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Santa Paula, Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Ventura and Woodland Hills. Pets for Vets is dedicated to supporting veterans and providing a second chance for shelter pets by rescuing, training and pairing them with America's veterans who could benefit from a companion animal. Many returning veterans suffer from physical and emotional injuries relating to their time in service, making it difficult to transition back to civilian life. Medical studies have shown that companion animals significantly reduce stress, depression and anxiety.
“We are excited that the Ventura HOG Chapter has chosen Pets for Vets, Ventura County Chapter as the benefactor of the 3rd Annual Seaside Fun Poker Run,” said Mardu Lydick, PFV-VCC Chapter Director. “Our organization’s mission is to assist veterans and save shelter pets and the funds raised by this event will help us to continue to serve our local veterans.”

The festivities will take place at the Ventura Harley-Davidson Dealership, at 1326 Del Norte Ave, in Camarillo, CA.
