Actors to Share Show Biz Insight With Children

Disney and NBC stars will meet with kids at a free event Sunday.

Stars from Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place and NBC's Surface and Days of Our Lives will meet with children Sunday at a free and open-to-the-public event at the Pam Rossi Dance Ten studio.

Coming to her studio Sunday are entertainers Gregg Sulkin and Jennifer Stone from Wizards of Waverly Place, Linsey Godfrey from Surface and Mark Hapka from Days of Our Lives.

Pam Rossi, owner of Dance Ten, has organized this event to allow young aspiring artists—whether they are actors, singers or dancers—to be able to gain some industry insight from these successful young entertainment professionals.

Rossi knows what it’s like to have young dreams and wonder where to turn.

“I was very young to go professional,” she said, “and I didn't know a lot when I was introduced to the entertainment industry. I basically learned as I went along on each job.”

She was hired at age 18 for her first professional job as a dancer—working for Barry Manilow at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles. From there she danced for TV, commercials and movies. She also did live performances in cities like Las Vegas, New York, Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco.

"When I was growing up I didn't have the opportunity to be able to talk to anyone who was in the entertainment industry,” she said. “I know if I had the opportunity it would have helped me along the way.”

She hopes that events like these can give young artists a chance to think about their own entertainment careers.

“My wish is for students to have the opportunity to ask interesting questions to educate them for the future. I think we are very lucky to have these very well established and successful actors come to Moorpark and talk with us," she said.

The event will take place Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Pam Rossi’s Dance Ten, 650 Flinn Ave., Suite 6. There is no cost to attend and it is open to the public. Seating is first come first serve. For more information, contact Pam Rossi Dance Ten Studios at 805-529-1958.
