Slovakian Peter Sagan of the Liquiqas-Cannondale team won stage five of the Amgen Tour of California Thursday. Though he took first in the 135.1-mile ride that stretched from Seaside to Paso Robles, American Chris Horner, stage four winner, remains the overall race leader.
Friday's stage six of the Tour is a loop through the Santa Ynez Valley that starts and ends in the Danish-style town of Solvang. There is only one real climb on this route, a short but steep ride up Ballard Canyon.
According to the Tour website, "This year's short, flat and fast time trial will create a challenging test for the riders and is expected to be a decisive day of the race."
